Exhibition in Petworth West Sussex.
I’ve spent the last 3 months working towards this exhibition. After reading a Peter Brandon book on the history of the South Downs I set about exploring them earlier this year. The end result is an exhibition of around 30 original watercolours to be exhibited exclusively at the http://www.kevishouse.com/ kevis House Gallery in Lombard Street Petworth.
The Gallery is owned by Richard and Lucy Russell who I have known for years as they run the celebrated Works on Paper Fair held annually in London every February. The exhibition subjects vary from the chalk cliffs of Beachy Head, the sweeping views from Firle Beacon to the streets and surrounds of Petworth itself.
It’s been a delight to paint and I’m sure if you were to visit the gallery you would enjoy my search of the similarities and differences of the South Downs from a more northerly point of view.
The exhibition starts this weekend and runs until October the 26th. The preview day is this Saturday the 5th of September. I shall be at the gallery all day. If you would like one of the few remaining tickets email me at info@mjforster.com I hope to see you there.
